Protective Services Board

The Hill County Child Protective Services Board is a member of the Texas Council of Child Welfare Boards.  The Hill County CPS Board is comprised of 15 members, 3 from each of the 4 precincts in Hill County, and 3 at large members.  Members are nominated by the County Commissioner representing their precinct or the County Judge.  The Hill County Judge is an ex-officio member of this Board.

The duties of the Hill County Child Protective Services Board include but are not limited to the following:

• To know the needs, and provide assistance,  of neglected and abused children in Hill County as identified by Texas Child Protective Services.
• To familiarize the citizens of Hill County with the needs of these children and programs of the Board.
• To educate the citizens of Hill County to be aware of situations where children may be abused or neglected and to report suspected neglect or abuse to the Texas Abuse Hotline at 1-800-252-5400 or to call 911 if the situation is an emergency.
• To encourage donations and fundraise to assist in providing for the needs of these children and for education of the citizens of Hill County.
