Ribbon Cutting for Wagon Wheel Cafe Press Release

On Tuesday, September 9, 2014, the Lake Whitney Chamber of Commerce visited the WAGON WHEEL CAFÉ, 3307 FM 933S in Whitney for a Ribbon Cutting ceremony to welcome our newest Chamber member and a new business to Whitney.

The owners are William (Junior) & Kari Shelton and Sammy & Angela Snelgrove and their phone is 254-694-1522.  They offer lunch and dinner and their hours are: Mon-Tues. & Thurs. from 11am to 9pm, Closed Wednesdays, Fri & Sat from 11am-10pm and Sun from 11am-8pm.  They have great food and prices and it’s just a short drive south on FM933, at the FM2124Loop sign, to check their new restaurant out.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Woodmen of the World

On Tuesday, September 2, 2014, the Lake Whitney Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony

at Woodmen of the World, 219 E. Elm Street, Hillsboro, TX.

Mr. Jake Powers,  Hill & Bosque County Field Representative cut the ribbon and also present for the photo

were:  Stuart Stephenson, Area Manager of Woodmen, Chapter Members Nora Bearden, Louise Morgan, Mr.

Powers, Anne Blaha member/ambassador from First National Bank of Central Texas, Lujean Porter & Tim

Morgan. They sell life insurance, investments & annuities and the second part of their work is Not for Profit

in that they take the profits and give back to the community.  Anyone is welcome to join and applications are

available by calling Jake Powers.  Hours are by appointment and they meet the first Tuesday of every month

at the Elm Street location at 6:30p.m.  Woodmen of the World is 124 years old and the Hillsboro Chapter is

107 years old.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony WHITNEY SENIOR CENTER



On Tuesday, August 19, 2014, the Lake Whitney Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony at the new offices of

WHITNEY SENIOR CENTER (Central Texas Senior Ministries of Waco, TX.)

102 W. Railroad Avenue (the former Chamber of Commerce offices) in Whitney, TX.

They also do the Meals on Wheels for this area and are open 9-1pm Mon-Fri.

Mr. Robert Rowe is the manager and Mr. Allie Davenport the Assistant manager.

Ribbon Cutting Rock Paper Scissors Salon


On Monday, August 4, 2014, a Ribbon Cutting ceremony was held by the Lake Whitney Chamber of Commerce to new owner/stylist Ms. Brandi Wood of

Rock Paper Scissors Salon, 102 W. Washington Street in Whitney.  Her phone is 254-266-5161 and her other stylist is Ms. Debbi Sharp.  Their hours are

Mon-Fri. 9-5pm and Sat. by appointment only.  It is newly redecorated and both of them having worked for a long time at the former Brazos Hair Company

are very familiar with Whitney and have many customers from the previous business but anticipate new customers with this new venture.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony The End Zone

We held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony at 10:00a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 for Ralph & Kimberly Medina, owners of The End Zone and this marks their official first day of business in downtown Whitney at 101 E. Washington.  Call them at 254-221-0082 and stop by and see this new restaurant.  Hours: Sun-Thurs 10:30am-11pm and Fri & Sat 10:30am to Midnight.

They have a great menu and the motif is all sports related with a football field as their flooring, TV’s everywhere to watch your favorite sports and a great wait staff in sports uniforms.

Present for the photo besides Mr. & Mrs. Medina were two of their daughters, their waitresses, their parents, family all the way from Houston and friends along with Vice-President Tammy Atchley, ambassador Wesley Turner, Director Bob Wilson, Director Debbie and her two grandchildren, Director Katie Cassidy and Director Joe Marek.  We welcome them to downtown Whitney.



Ribbon Cutting Ceremony C&RAir-Cooled Engine Service


On Friday, Aprilo 18, 2014, the Lake Whitney Chamber of Commerce visited C & R Air-Cooled Engine Service at 195 Sunflower Lane in Whitney with owners, Chris & Ruth Infante. their phones are 254-694-4452 or 254-707-2273.  They can also be reached by email at: chrisinfante12@yahoo.com  They specialize in Lawn Mower Repair, welders, generators, compressors, transfer pumps and ATV’s and can work on anything with a small engine.  They have a large building with a parts department, private office and plenty of repair space area.

Press Release Ribbon Cutting SASSY BRATZ


On Saturday, March 29, 2014, the Lake Whitney Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony at SASSY BRATZ, a brand new shop in Whitney located at 118 W. Washington Avenue, Suite A.

They offer little girls clothing, hair bows, etc, along with hair styling and nails and also book dress up and dance parties. The owners are Hannah Hinojosa & Misty Cox and their hours are Tues-Sat. 9-5pm and closed on Sundays and Mondays. They will open other hours by special appointment only.

They also do Photography and they invite everyone to stop by and see their new store.

We held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 11:30a.m. They are right past First Bank and will be open Tues. to Sat. from 10-3pm serving soup, sandwiches, salads, desserts, tea & coffee. Revised date for the Ribbon cutting as the contractor isn’t quite finished with the work.
