Nominations should be made based on the criteria listed under each category. Winners will be selected by the Annual Awards Committee after reviewing each entry.
Citizen of the Year – Recipient is an outstanding individual recognized for their impact on the lives of the citizens of Whitney.
This special individual shows dedication and spirit beyond what is considered regular duty. They have made a lasting difference in the community through volunteerism, advocacy, community building, or business leadership.
Chamber Member of the Year – Recognizes a Chamber member that has demonstrated a commitment to community service, business excellence, investment in employees or business improvement.
Educator of the Year – Recognizes the teacher who goes above and beyond to help inspire the love of learning in students of all background and abilities.
Young Person of the Year – Nominee must be age twenty-one (21) or younger and enrolled in an educational facility or equivalent.
The achievement of the nominee should be something that contributes to the betterment of the community, sets an example, or encourages participation of others.

By Pentecost of 1977 they had completed the necessary work for them to charter and give birth to Our Savior Lutheran Church of Whitney.
We invite you to join us for the celebration of the 40th birthday of Our Savior Lutheran Church on Pentecost, June 4, 2017 at 4 pm. A light reception will be offered. To help us prepare, please RSVP by phone to 254-694-3234, or by email to PWottrich@aol.com, no later than Friday, 5/26.
The celebration will be held at the church properties located at 117 HCR 2129E, just south of Highway 22 less than a mile west of the intersection of highways 22 and 933.
Chartering Pastor, Rev. Teichmiller, will be the featured guest at our celebration. Present Pastor, Rev. Philip Wottrich, will be there as well. And we hope you will, too!
